Objective     
Construction Safety Services, Inc., is a full service safety consulting company.  We work with all types of companies to maintain quality performance.  We work with companies as small as two employees and as large as ten thousand employees.  Construction Safety Services, Inc., promotes safety throughout all of their job sites.

 

Projects

2004 Expansion Project, Morris, Illinois     C.S.S.I provided a site safety technician.  We worked with the general contractor and all the contractors help provide a safe workplace.

Bolingbrook, Illinois       C.S.S.I. provided Site Safety Managers for the General Contractor on the building of a new multi-million dollar Bolingbrook High School and Romeoville High Schools.  Duties included working with insurance company on the OCIP insurance program, daily jobsite safety audits and weekly toolbox talks.  All subcontractors dealt directly, on a day-to-day basis, with the consultants, due to the OCIP insurance intense program.
 

Spring 2004 Outage, Chicago, Illinois        C.S.S.I. provided the plant with a site safety technician.  We worked with the plant and all contractors to help provide a safe workplace.  Main duties included contractor new hire orientation and jobsite safety audits.

 

Trenton, New Jersey

C.S.S.I. provided a mechanical contractor with a site safety technician.  We worked with the general contractor and the plant to help provide a safe workplace.  This was a co-generation project from the ground up.

 

Retool Projects, Chicago, Illinois        C.S.S.I. provided the mechanical, civil, electrical and rigging contractor with site safety technicians for this project.  

Refuel Outages,  Pennsylvania        C.S.S.I. provided the main contractor with two site safety technicians.   C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

Refuel Outage, Morris, Illinois          C.S.S.I. provided the main contractor with two site safety technicians.  This project was an outage for this facility.  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

ExxonMobil, 2003Turnaround, Channahon, Illinois    C.S.S.I. provided several contractors with  site safety technicians.  This project was a turnaround for this facility.  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

 

Nuclear Outage, Pennsylvania         C.S.S.I. provided the main contractor with one site safety technician.  This project was an outage for this facility.  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

BP Amoco Chemical, Fall 2003 Turnaround, Channahon, Illinois

C.S.S.I. provided the maintenance contractor with one site safety technician.  This project was a PIA shutdown for this facility..  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

 

BP Amoco Chemical, Spring 2003 Turnaround, Channahon, Illinois

C.S.S.I. provided the maintenance contractor with two site safety technicians.  This project was a TMA shutdown for this facility.  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

 

Midwest Distribution Center, Joliet, Illinois

C.S.S.I. did jobsite safety audits for the building of a 1.25 million square foot facility.  C.S.S.I. performed bi-weekly audits on this project for the general contractor.

 

Citgo Refinery, Fall 2002 Turnaround, Lemont, Illinois          C.S.S.I. provided mechanical, civil, and electrical contractors with site safety technicians for the South Plant Turnaround. C.S.S.I. worked with these contractors on site to help maintain the highest level of safety.

 

Boiler Outage, Wheatfield, Indiana          C.S.S.I. provided the mechanical contractor with a site safety manager on both the day and night shift.  This job was a boiler wall replacement.  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor and plant to provide a safe workplace.

 

Covert, Michigan      C.S.S.I. provided the mechanical contractor with 6 site safety technicians.  This is a co-generation project from the ground up.  This project dealt with all aspects of safety, from the first pipe going in an excavation to putting in the final piece of pipe.

 

MoGas Project, Channahon, Illinois       C.S.S.I. provided the mechanical contractor with site safety technicians.  This project is an expansion to the current facility.  C.S.S.I. worked with the contractor, general contractor and the plant on all safety issues.

 

Stamping Plant,  Illinois       C.S.S.I. provided the general contractor with a site safety manager.  This manager was in charge of all safety issues when any contractor works at this site.  The project ranges from standard maintenance to retooling stamping lines. 

 

DowChemical,Mattoon,Illinois                                                                                               C.S.S.I. provided the plant with a construction safety manager to manage all the construction work going on at this facility. 

 

Assembly Plant, Chicago, Illinois          C.S.S.I. provided a contractor with a site safety manager for the December 2002 plant wide shutdown. 

 

Crude Rebuild, Lemont, Illinois   C.S.S.I. provided over 16 safety technicians to various contractors on this project. We had everyone from Site Safety Managers to field safety specialist.  This project worked of 8 months with over 2 million man-hours with no loss time accidents.  C.S.S.I. worked with all contractors on site to help maintain the highest level of safety and helped maintain the contractors, Fluor Maintenance Services and CITGO high safety expectations.

 

Newington, New Hampshire           Site Safety Manager for the building of a Cogeneration plant.  This project lasted over 9 months long with no lost time accidents and only one recordable incident. This was a ground up project dealing with all aspects of safety.  From the first pipe going in an excavation to putting in the final valve this project had dealt with many different aspects of safety.      

                                                                                                               

 Lansing, Michigan         Site Safety Manager for a civil contractor on the building of a new cogeneration project.  Excavations and confine spaces were major part of our time was devoted to.  This project worked with no OSHA recordables and no loss time accidents.

 

Water Reclamation Building, Chicago, Illinois        Site Safety Manager for window replacement and masonry repair at the main office building of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.  Performed daily site safety audits, enforced the contractors and City of Chicago’s safety program and oversaw the electrical phase of sidewalk canopy.

O’Hare Airport, Chicago, Illinois                                                                                            Site Safety Manager for renovation of largest parking structure in the world.  Oversaw all aspects of safety program for night shift including accident reporting, accident management, manpower reporting and coordination with facility’s program to ensure security.

Dearborn, Michigan     C.S.S.I. supplied the mechanical contractor with an on site safety manager for both day and night shift during Phase II construction of 750 megawatt cogeneration plant.  C.S.S.I. representatives oversaw all


3M - Cordova, IL
        C.S.S.I. supplied the electrical contractor with a daytime safety director for the Rebuild Project of Building #3.  The duties included new hire orientation, auditing and documentation.  We worked with the plant construction safety department as well as other subcontractors. <top>
 
Amoco Oil Company - Whiting, IN
       C.S.S.I. ran the day and night shift safety for a mechanical contractor on the cat cracker and alky 1999 turnaround project.  Job requirements included accident investigation, new hire training, site safety inspections and control of any other safety issues the occurred.
 
Wheatfield, IN    This project was replacing ductwork and replacing curtains going to scrubbers.  Oversaw approximately 200 workers while initiating new hire training, confined space permitting, accident investigation and all other safety related issues

International Paper - Jay, ME    C.S.S.I. supplied the mechanical contractor with both a nighttime and daytime Safety Director for the Cogeneration Project.  The duties included auditing, training, documentation and adhering to both the general contractor’s and International Paper's safety standards


Amoco Oil Company - Whiting, IN
This job was to run night shift safety for a mechanical contractor on the FCU 600 Tar turnaround.  Job duties included accident investigation, new hire training, site safety inspections and control of any other safety issues that occurred.


Amoco Oil Company - Whiting, IN

This job was to administer safety for a mechanical contractor for an outage on a SRU Turnaround.  Job responsibilities included new hire training, lockout/tagout and site safety inspections. <top>

Monsanto Chemical - Muscatine, IA
Supplied a site safety director to the electrical contractor for the installation of electrical wiring during the upgrading of NIPA/IPCO buildings within the plant.  Responsibilities were to provide training, site inspections, write safety reports and provide any type of safety coverage for electricians installing cable tray, pulling cable or terminating connections.


Commonwealth Edison - Pekin, IL

This project was to re-tub 2 of the boilers in the ComEd facility.  There were 3 Safety Representatives on site from Construction Safety Services that were working for the mechanical contractor.  There were approximately 250 workers onsite working 24 hours a day.  The Safety Representatives' duties included all new hire training, fitness for duty, confined space monitoring and permitting, safety walk downs, accident investigation and all other safety related problems.

Exxon Chemical - Channahon, IL
This project was to modify a mixing system to produce a gasoline additive at the plant.  The Safety Representative worked for the general contractor.  His responsibilities included new hire training, fire extinguisher training, confined space permitting, fitness for duty, safety meetings, accident reporting and safety walk downs.<top>

 
Criterion Catalyst - Michigan City, IN

This project was to add Phase II to the Criterion Catalyst plant.  The Safety Representative worked for the general contractor.  He also had 4 subcontractors onsite and was in charge of running their safety program.  Duties included new hire training, obtaining hot work permits every morning, drug testing, safety inspections, accident record keeping and all safety related problems.
 
Commonwealth Edison - Romeoville, IL
This project was to add a new coal handling system to the plant.  The Safety Representative worked for the mechanical contractor.  His duties were new hire training, drug testing, safety inspections, accident investigation and any other safety issues that arose.


Equistar Chemicals, LP - Morris, IL
C.S.S.I. supplied a full time safety director to a mechanical contractor for constant plant maintenance.  Duties required our safety representative to maintain training logs, give weekly safety meetings and coordinate with the plant safety department to maintain a quality safety program.
 
Exxon/Mobil Oil - Joliet, IL
We were contracted to provide both a day and a night safety director for a mechanical contractor during the plant's turnaround.  Responsibilities included inspection of all equipment and rigging, approval of critical lifts and the monitoring of spaces for possible build up of toxic fumes.
